It is important to support make fertility as well as female fertility when trying to conceive. In Traditional Chinese Medicine it is important to improve Qi circulation; movement of the vital force through the body and to also increase Yang movement to promote more viable sperm. From a Western perspective it is important to remove toxicity from the body to help the Liver balance and convert hormones more readily.
Important supplements for male fertility:
Zinc – 60 mg/day
This improves Sperm motility and vitality
The brand doesn’t necessarily matter but make sure it is Zinc Picolinate (most absorbable form for the body)
Vitamin E – 800 IU/day
This improves sperm’s impregnating abilities and swimming abilities
Good brands are Genestra, SISU, AOR and Thorne
Macca Green Tea – ½ tsp to a full tsp per day
This acts as a Genito-urinary adaptogen. This means that if the reproductive area is weak, it will help balance and strengthen it.
You can drink this as tea – the pricier the brand, usually the better the quality of the powder. You can also get high dose capsules by Genestra called Maccagen.
Panax Ginseng – ½ tsp – full tsp 3x/day
This herb is an adaptogen (balances the body) but has very Yang properties which is good for male fertility because it promotes movement and motility.
This is best taken in a herbal tincture – the best brand is St. Francis Herb Farm
No Alcohol, Coffee, Cigarettes or recreational drugs
Avoid processed Foods and Sugars
Increase Organic produce (Avoid the Dirty Dozen!)
