Anti-aging Super Foods!

With spring around the corner and everyone taking their winter coats, toques and general hibernation wear off for the year, I thought it would be a good time to talk about anti-aging! Spring is always a time of new beginnings where we want to look our best. Anti-aging regimes are most successful and long term if done from the inside out – healthy, properly functioning organs and enzyme systems = healthy looking exteriors. Here are some anti-aging super foods to introduce to your diet:

 

1) Cruciferous Vegetables (Brocolli, Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, Bok Choy)

- Benefits = contain sulforaphane - stimulates enzymes in the body that detoxify carcinogens before they damage cells

 

2) Olive Oil

– Benefits = powerful antioxidants - Improves heart and circulatory health, helps lower cholesterol

- Benefits = Highest in Omega 3 - Improves joints, skin, vision, brain, heart

5) Avocado

- Benefits = Omega-9  fats reduce skin redness and repair damaged skin cells - improve skin tone and maintains moisture levels in epidermal layer of skin
